I lost my key

Open Keyaway → Key → Make a new key. It starts working 12 hours from now. That delay is the whole point: if a new key worked instantly, the lock would mean nothing. Until then, emergency passes still work.

I need in right now

Every month you get 3 emergency passes. One opens the group for 15 minutes, from the app or straight from the block screen. They do not carry over, and there is no way to buy more — that is deliberate.

The block screen will not let me scan

iOS does not allow a block screen to open another app. Open Keyaway yourself, then tap Scan key. Every app in this category has the same limit.

It says "that looks like a screen"

You turned on Strict paper mode, which refuses a key photographed off a display. Turn it off in Settings, or use an emergency pass on that same screen.

Nothing is being blocked

Check Settings → Screen Time access. If it is off, iOS will not let any app shield anything. Keyaway shows a banner when this happens.

Can someone else hold my key?

Yes, and that is the strongest way to use it. Print it and give it to a roommate, partner, or coworker.

Keyaway Pro is a one-time purchase through Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
